Assistant Dean for Advancement and External Relations

Edgar Gonzalez joined the College of Built Environments as Assistant Dean for Advancement in 2011. As the chief advancement officer, he is responsible for all the fundraising and externally-focused communication for the College and its five academic disciplines.

 

Gonzalez joined the UW Foster School of Business in 2004 and helped create a new MBA reunion program before moving to the natural sciences division of the UW College of Arts and Sciences to be Associate Director. There, he successfully raised major gifts and built programs for 12 departments and several research centers. Before joining the College of Built Environments in 2011, Gonzalez served as Director of Development for the Alliance for Education, a non-profit focused on ensuring all students in Seattle Public Schools are prepared for college, career, and life. He is passionate about access and equity in education and is energized to help CBE connect to its alumni, the built environment industry, and the community.
