About Parchment Digital Badges
Parchment offers digital badges that can be used to verify student skills or success. Digital badges can be used to prove completion of a certificate or to indicate the skills acquired through a program of study. A list of current CBE badges may be found here:

Although this service is being loosely managed by several academic units, the UW Registrar has expressed interest in adopting badging as a centralized service. Although no timeline has been given, we anticipate that such a centralized service would become available sometime after the 2026 – 2027 academic year.
Accessing Parchment Digital Badges
Email be-help@uw.edu and reference “Parchment Badges” in your email subject. CBE-IT will invite departmental staff to the CBE instance of Parchment Digital Badges.

Costs
Digital badges cost $3.85 per badge per year. Pricing may be subject to change.
Departments are responsible for funding their own use of badges and must provide a Workday work tag when requesting access.
